Happy 4th

We hope everyone had an excellent independence day. Matt had a chance to get back to Chicago and so Jason and Bolla had help with some projects in the shop. We got our front window gates painted and installed, we also hung more racks on the wall for bikes, and had a chance to prepare the walls for baseboards. The best thing that happened was that when we were there working people from the neighborhood stopping in to see what is going on and we were able to repair several bikes that were brought in. It was so enjoyable! If we could we would open tomorrow and stain our hands with grease, but there are still projects that must be completed before that can happen. We appreciate your patients and soon very soon you will be able to stop in for a chat and check out the new store, We promise! Thank you for your consistent checking in on us you shall hear from us soon.

Update

Sorry it has been so long. So the last 3 weeks at the shop have been fast paced. Matt was in town for a week and helped build a counter and a workbench. Jason has been restoring bikes and selling them like there is a bicycle shortage in Chicago and Bolla has been finishing the last coats of paint, working on additional bike display hangers and the baseboards. We are optimistic that we will be open mid July but as in all things we will see how that goes. We are getting a lot of interest from the Neighborhood people coming by while we are working and saying “Hi” checking out what’s going on and telling us how nice it will to have a Bike Shop in West Walker. You believe me when I say this we are ecstatic to be in West Walker. I promise we will be more diligent on the updates. Thanks again to all.

Moving forward

Things are finally coming together. The shop is almost finished, we have a website, and this week will be a marathon of bike building. Jason and Bolla have been working so hard to get the shop ready to open and sell bikes on craigslist. The opening is in site we can almost smell it. Stay tuned for more updates........

About a year ago three guys had the idea to open a bike shop in Chicago that would cater to the needs of the cyclist and would be a part of their community. A business not based on bottom lines but built on an organic idea that might have been forgotten years ago. That when you help a cyclist back up on two wheels the effect can change the world we live in, At least a little bit. We are cyclists just like you and you have probably looked over at us while waiting at a stop light. We promise never to forget that and to always be on the side of the biker.

Now here is where you come in. We need all your loves and your gripes (however small) about local bike shops (please no names) so we can start to build you the store you would like. It is imperative that you not use the name of other stores in your posts. We are not looking to bad mouth anyone, merely cater to your wishes. So Chicago we are waiting for your directions............
